FOR PROFESSIONAL, INDUSTRIAL AND DOMESTIC USE:
fast: real quality diamonds, the hardest material known, reduce the sharpening time of the tool;
easy: with little pressure pass the blade on the surface;
long-lasting: the natural diamonds used guarantee a long life;
versatile: sharpens all kinds of hard materials, steel, glass, ceramic, tungsten carbon, etc.
Unique manufacturing process ensures long life
A perforated steel base is embedded inside a plastic base using strong pressure. The steel is then covered with natural diamond embedded in a nickel plate. The diamond coating ensures fast sharpening while the plastic indentation retains water which acts as a lubricant and disperses the dust that the diamonds remove during the sharpening process.
Diamond stones are available in four different hardnesses:
D15 EXTRAFINE/GREEN (9 microns, hardness 1200):
refines and smooths sharp edges to razor sharpness. If you have never sharpened before, or if you do not need your blades or tool edges to be as sharp as possible, we do not recommend using this type of hardness. But if it is never sharp enough for you, then this is what you have been looking for.
D25 FINE/RED (25 microns, hardness 600):
Returns sharp edges to any knife or tool that no longer cuts. Many of our customers consider the "fine" hardness to be just right for every need. Professional chefs and cooks in general prefer this model. For woodworkers and sportsmen approaching sharpening, this is the step before micro-chamfering and polishing.
D46 GROSS/BLUE (45 microns, hardness 325):
Quickly returns sharpness to an edge that no longer cuts. Customers who want a ready-to-use cutting edge and don't mind edge finishing use the medium hardness models.
D76 EXTRAGROSS/BLACK (60 microns, hardness 220):
Recommended for aggressive metal removal on damaged or outdoor-used tools such as axes and lawnmower blades. Also used as a first step in flattening the back of chisels and flat irons or for quick removal of material from chipped or severely damaged edges.
